Bangladesh’s Chief Adviser, Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, attended a high-profile reception hosted by US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump in New York on September 23. He was accompanied by his daughter, Dina Yunus.
At the event, President Trump and First Lady Melania posed for photographs with Dr. Yunus and his daughter. The images were shared on Dr. Yunus’ verified Facebook page early Saturday morning (Bangladesh time).
In the photos, a smiling President Trump stands with the First Lady on his left, Dr. Yunus on his right, and Dina Yunus standing beside her father, dressed in a sari and smiling.
During the reception, Dr. Yunus exchanged greetings with President Trump and extended an invitation for a future visit to Bangladesh.
He also held discussions with top global leaders and representatives of international organizations, including King Felipe VI of Spain, Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba, UN Secretary-General António Guterres, and Bhutanese Prime Minister Dasho Shering Tobgay.
As part of the international engagements, Dr. Yunus also met with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and US Special Representative for South and Central Asia, Sergio Moro, to discuss regional and bilateral issues.
