Professor Dr Md Nazrul Islam has been appointed Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic) of Bangladesh Medical University for a four-year term.
The appointment was announced in a notification issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Tuesday, with approval from the President in his capacity as Chancellor.
According to the notification, the appointment has been made under the relevant provisions of the Bangladesh Medical University Act, 1998.
Dr Nazrul Islam currently serves as a professor in the Department of Radiology and Imaging and also holds the position of registrar at the university.
He will continue to receive salary and benefits equivalent to his current post, along with other entitlements as per existing rules.
The notification added that the Chancellor retains the authority to cancel the appointment if necessary.
The order takes immediate effect.
