The Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examination scheduled for Thursday morning has been postponed in Gopalganj district due to the imposition of a curfew.
The exam will, however, be held as planned in all other districts across the country, according to a press release issued by the Dhaka Education Board. Gopalganj falls under the jurisdiction of this board.
The postponed exam is the Geography (Theory) Second Paper, which was set to take place on Thursday morning.
Although exams for several other subjects are scheduled for Thursday afternoon as well, none of them were scheduled to be held in Gopalganj.
The press release also stated that a new date for the postponed Geography exam in Gopalganj will be announced later through an official notification.
The curfew in Gopalganj was enforced starting at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, following incidents of political violence, clashes, and fatalities linked to a rally organized by the National Citizen Party (NCP). The curfew is expected to remain in effect until 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
