Students block Farmgate over fellow’s death

Dozens of students from different educational institutions along with Tejgaon Government Science School and College have blocked the Farmgate intersection demanding safe roads and justice over the death of a fellow student in a road crash.

Earlier on Sunday, Ali Hossain, a government science college’s class X student, was killed after being hit by a private car in front of BG Press.

The students took to the street at noon on Monday, halting the traffic movement in the area. 

The law enforcers tried to talk to the protesting students to end the blockade, but they did not budge.

Contacted, Tejgaon police said the private car involved in the accident has already been seized. They tried to assure the protesters of taking legal measures against the driver.

Alongside the police, the teachers of the science college also tried to persuade the students to clear the road.
