Elon Musk slams former UK Minister Tulip over corruption scandal after resignation

Tulip Siddiq, the UK‍‍`s former Economic Affairs Minister, found herself at the center of controversy following corruption allegations, leading to her resignation from the post. 

Despite her resignation, the issue has sparked intense debate online, especially as she was responsible for addressing corruption in the UK‍‍`s financial sector.

The resignation caught the attention of Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and owner of X (formerly Twitter).

Musk shared his thoughts on the incident by posting on X, writing: "The Labour minister for child welfare shields the predators and their anti-corruption minister is corrupt."

Tulip Siddiq, who is the daughter of Sheikh Rehana, the sister of Bangladesh’s former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, served as the City Minister for the UK Treasury. 

In this role, she was in charge of overseeing anti-corruption efforts in the country‍‍`s financial sector. 

However, corruption charges against her soon surfaced, alleging that she embezzled almost $5 billion meant for infrastructure projects in Bangladesh.

Additionally, she is accused of accepting a flat in London as a gift. In the wake of these allegations, Tulip resigned from her ministerial position.
