A Bangladeshi native was shot and killed last night at the Thakurpur border crossing in Chuadanga`s Damurhuda upazila, allegedly by members of the Indian Border Security Force (BSF).
A Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) official identified the deceased as Rabiul Haque, 40, a livestock trader and the son of Rahmat Ullah of Pirpurkullah village in the upazila, according to media reports.
Officials from the BGB and the locals claim that Rabiul was shot by BSF members from the Rangiarpota camp last night when he entered Indian territory without authorization, killing him instantly.
Later, according to the BSF, the body of Rabiul was found and taken to a hospital in Krishnanagar, West Bengal, for an autopsy.
