Members of Customs Intelligence last night recovered 26-kilograms of gold worth about Taka 30 crore from the inside of an aircraft at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA).
"Customs officials recovered egg size liquid gold pest wrapped with blue color scotch-tape after searching an Emirates flight (EK-584) landed here on Sunday night from Dubai", said Segufta Mahjabin, Deputy Commissioner of Dhaka Custom House.
Acting on a tip off, customs and other agency officials conducted a joint drive on Sunday midnight when the Emirates aircraft landed here from Dubai and recovered the gold kept under eleven separate seats of the aircraft, she said.
