At least 19 dead, over 100 injured in Milestone air force training jet crash

At least 19 people have been confirmed dead and over 150 injured, most of them schoolchildren, following the crash of a Bangladesh Air Force training aircraft in the Uttara area of Dhaka, doctors have confirmed.

Among the injured, 70 people suffering from burns are currently being treated at various hospitals. The incident occurred on Monday afternoon when the aircraft crashed into a building on the campus of Milestone School and College in Diabari.

Professor Dr. Sayedur Rahman, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser, disclosed the casualty figures during a press briefing at the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery. He was accompanied by six other advisers of the interim government, including Legal Adviser Asif Nazrul.

Dr. Rahman stated that the majority of the injured students were admitted with burn injuries. Victims are currently receiving treatment at the Burn Institute, Kurmitola General Hospital, Dhaka Medical College Hospital, Combined Military Hospital (CMH), and Uttara Modern Hospital.
