A massive fire broke out at Tejkunipara Slum in the city's Tejgaon area on Monday night.
The fire originated at a shanty of the slum and the fire fighters were notified around 7:53pm.

However, twelve firefighting units brought the blaze under control around 10:10pm, said Rozina Akter, duty officer of Fire Service and Civil Defence Headquarters.
On information, nine firefighting units rushed to the spot, while more units of Mohammadpur Fire Station went to the scene to douse the fire, Rashed added earlier.
The origin of the fire could not be known immediately. No casualties were reported, he furthered.
Ayesha Begum, a slum dweller, told the media that the fire started in a three-storey tin-shed wooden house owned by one Md Jakir where she lived in the ground floor.
