Police in Dhaka have arrested Awami League leader and former Chhatra League General Secretary Ajay Kar Khokon.
According to Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), detectives detained Khokon at around 2:00 a.m. on Tuesday (23 September) from the Gulshan On Community Club.
Confirming the arrest, DMP Joint Commissioner (DB–South) Mohammad Nasirul Islam said that Khokon was taken into custody based on “specific complaints and intelligence information.”
He added that the former student leader — who has multiple cases filed against him — is facing further legal action, which is currently under process.
