As many as 12 shops were gutted in a fire at Kashimpur Bazar in Bhedarganj upazila of the Shariatpur district in the early hours of Saturday.
The fire originated from an electric short circuit at a shop of the Bazar around 2am and soon engulfed the adjacent business establishments, as a result of the fire, twelve shops were completely gutted, Bhedarganj Fire Service Station Officer (Acting) Ziaur Rahman, told the media.
Being informed, two units of Bhedarganj Fire Service and Civil Defense rushed to the spot and doused the blaze with the help of locals and affected businessmen after one hour of efforts, he added.
