The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has launched simultaneous raids at eight major railway stations across the country, including the central station in Dhaka in response to rising complaints of black-market ticket sales, financial irregularities, and passenger harassment ahead of Eid.
Starting at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, ACC enforcement teams began their operations at key stations such as Kamalapur, Chattogram, Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Jamalpur, Sylhet, and Dinajpur.
The operation was initiated following a significant number of complaints recently received by the commission`s headquarters and regional offices concerning illicit ticket sales and corruption in railway services.
Based on these reports, the commission authorized separate coordinated actions from its various regional units.
According to ACC sources, the commission is taking a firm stance against ticket black-marketing.
Similar raids will continue before and after Eid, and if any individuals are found to be involved, appropriate legal action will be taken against them.
