A fire that broke out at a Jhut godown in Notun Bazar area today was brought under control by several units of fire services.
According to police, the fire originated around 1:30 am at the godown.
Six units of fire service from Joydevpur, Kaliakoir and Kashimpur Mini Fire Station rushed to the spot and doused the fire after more than five hours.
Fire Service Senior Station Officer said, "Everything inside the godown burned...But the extent of damage was not known immediately. No casualties were reported during the incident."
While asked about the reason behind the fire, the official said that the exact cause could be said after an investigation.
