Bangladesh reported five more deaths from dengue during the last 24 hours. With the latest addition to the aggregate fatalties, 182 deaths from the mosquito-borne disease has been recorded. This figure is the highest for Bangladesh in a single year.
During the same period, 820 patients were admitted to different hospitals across the country during the past 24 hours till 8:00 am on Tuesday.
"As many as 450 dengue patients were hospitalized in Dhaka city and 370 patients were admitted to hospitals outside Dhaka during the past 24 hours," a press release of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said.
"A total of 182 people died from dengue disease between January 1 and November 8. The first death from dengue was reported on June 21, this year," added the daily statement of the health department.

Meanwhile, the government has fixed the fee for a dengue detection test, known as NS1, at Tk 100 at state-run hospitals, while private hospitals are allowed to charge a maximum of Tk 300 since this week.
Earlier on Sunday, Health Minister Zahid Maleque disclosed the new rates after a seminar in Dhaka.
