NCP leaders leave Khulna for Faridpur

Central leaders of the National Citizens’ Party (NCP) departed Khulna on Thursday morning for Faridpur, following their rally in Gopalganj. The delegation is traveling via Jashore and Narail.

The convoy includes NCP Convenor and One-Point Declaration Leader Nahid Islam, Northern Coordinator Sarjis Alam, Southern Coordinator Hasnat Abdullah, Member Secretary Akhtar Hossain, and central leaders including Dr. Tasnim Zara.

NCP’s Khulna leader Ahmed Hamim Rahat said the leaders began leaving from 9:00 AM in phases, with the final group departing at 9:30 AM. The leaders had been staying at the Circuit House and Hotel City Inn in Khulna.

On Wednesday afternoon, July 16, NCP’s rally in Gopalganj was violently attacked by members of the now-defunct Awami League and its banned student wing, Chhatra League. The area turned into a battleground as attackers clashed with police around 3:30 PM. NCP leaders were trapped in the area and were later escorted to Khulna with military assistance.

That night, they held a press conference at Khulna Press Club to brief the media on the events.
