Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal has said that there is no chance of changing the election results in Electronic Voting Machine (EVM).
He said this in a speech as the chief guest at the exchange meeting with the candidates of the city corporation election at Shilpakala Academy auditorium in Khulna today.
Chief Election Commissioner said, “EVMs have the least chance of altering election results. Polling stations and polling booths will be monitored through closed circuit cameras on election day. No voter can be obstructed and his rights can not be curtailed."
Stating that everyone will have equal opportunities in the elections, the CEC said, “The elections will be free, fair and impartial. Not everyone is elected in the election. Some will be elected, some will be defeated. Defeat must be accepted. A beautiful, fair and impartial election was held in Gazipur.”
Kazi Habibul Awal said, "Electoral culture has not developed in our country as expected. However in Gazipur, the rival candidate accepted defeat and congratulated the opposition. It`s a good culture."
