Three people were killed as a stolen truck hit a three-wheeler in Madhabpur upazila of Habiganj district on Saturday morning.
The deceased were identified as Mofizul Mia, 30, of Andiura union, Amsu Mia, 28 and Samad Mia, 45, of the same upazila.
According to Shayestaganj Highway Police Station, the speedy truck rammed the three-wheeler in front of Madhabpur Fire station on Dhaka-Sylhet highway at around 6.45 am, leaving Mofizul dead on the spot.
Seriously injured Amsu and Samad died on the way to Sylhet Osmani Medical College and Hospital.
OC of Shayestaganj Highway Police Station Mohammad Mainul Islam said a truck was reported stolen from Tangail’s Mirzapur on Friday night and it was found the truck involved in the accident was stolen.
Owner of the truck, Mohammad Momin Miah, told police that the truck was stolen around 9 pm on Friday from Sun Brickers Field in Mirzapur. He also informed the local police, he said
