Three killed in gunfight between two groups in Khagrachhari

Three people have been killed in a gunfight between two groups in Panchari upazila of Khagrachhari district.

The incident was confirmed on Monday afternoon by Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Ferdous Wahid of Panchari Police Station.

The OC said the shooting took place around midday in Madhumongolpara under Chengi union, following a clash between rival groups over establishing dominance in the area. Three people were killed on the spot. However, the identities of the deceased have not yet been confirmed.

He added that police have been sent to the scene to recover the bodies, and an investigation is underway to determine the details of the incident.

So far, no official statement has been received from either side involved in the clash.
