Two killed in Dhaka-Mawa highway accident

Two truck helpers were killed and another was injured as a truck hit another one on the Dhaka-Mawa highway in Rajendrapur early today.

The deceased were identified as Hossain Sheikh, 24, and Emon, 19. Both were the assistant of the two trucks.

Sub-Inspector (SI) Md Khorshed Alam of Hasara Highway Thana said the accident occurred when a running truck hit another standing one in the area around 12:30 am, leaving three persons of both the vehicles injured.

The wounded were rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where Hossain Sheikh and Emon were declared dead by the on-duty doctors.

The bodies were kept at the hospital morgue and a case is being processed to file with South Keraniganj Police Station, the SI added.
