Bangladeshi national killed in Oman, fellow expat arrested

A Bangladeshi expatriate has been killed in Oman, according to a report by the Times of Oman, citing the Royal Oman Police (ROP).

The incident took place in the Sur Wilayat area of the South Al Sharqiyah Governorate. ROP confirmed that another Bangladeshi national has been arrested in connection with the murder. Legal proceedings are currently underway against the suspect.

The identity of the victim and the motive behind the killing have not yet been disclosed. The incident has sparked concern within the Bangladeshi community living in Oman.

In a separate case, police in the Barka Wilayat of the South Al Batinah Governorate arrested an Indian national on charges of drug trafficking. According to the ROP Command, the individual was caught transporting a large quantity of alcohol in his private vehicle with the intention to smuggle it.

Oman has strict laws regarding the transportation and smuggling of alcohol, and violations can result in severe penalties.
