The 14-party alliance will hold a public rally in Dhaka on October 30, according to Awami League leader Amir Hossain Amu, also the coordinator and spokesman of the alliance.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the alliance at Amu`s residence in the capital`s Eskaton on Tuesday.
“Genocide is going on in Palestine. In particular, women and children are being killed indiscriminately. We condemn this genocide. I call on the United Nations to immediately end this war. We also appeal to the United Nations to take effective steps to repair this loss,” said Amu.
“We are noticing that the activities in the international community around the national elections are not desirable to the people of our country. One side of our country also seems to be following them in their anti-constitutional activities,” he added.
"The democratic trend continues in our country. This trend needs to continue. For this, the next election will be held according to the constitution. It has the support of our alliance. We want elections to be held as per the constitution. The 14-party alliance will take part in the election unitedly,” the 14-party coordinator also said.
The 14-party is to resist any national and international conspiracy. The coordinator of the alliance said that whatever happens, including elections, has to be within the constitution. “We will resist any activity against the constitution,” Amu said.
Jatiya Party Chairman Anwar Hossain Manju, Workers Party President Rashed Khan Menon, JSD President Hasanul Haque Inu, Tariqat Federation Chairman Najibul Bashar Maizbhandari, Awami League Joint General Secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif and leaders of the 14 parties attended the meeting.
