Top leaders from eight political and religious parties are scheduled to meet Chief Adviser of the interim government, Professor Muhammad Yunus, at his official residence and office, Jamuna on Sunday evening.
The meeting comes at a time when discussions surrounding Dr. Yunus’s possible resignation have intensified, adding further political heat.
The parties attending include Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh, Islami Andolan Bangladesh, Gono Odhikar Parishad, Bangladesh Khelafat Majlish, Amar Bangladesh Party (AB Party), Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, Khelafat Majlish, and Nezame Islami Party.
Key topics for discussion are expected to include the structure of the interim government, upcoming national elections, and potential legal action against individuals associated with authoritarian practices during Sheikh Hasina’s tenure.
This meeting follows similar discussions held a day earlier between Yunus and delegations from BNP, Jamaat-e-Islami, and the National Citizens Party, as part of ongoing efforts to shape the future direction of the interim administration.
