State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury has said that the people are doing fine and BNP does not like it.
“They (BNP) like to create suffering. But we’re with the people. Never did we leave the people for a day in the past 73 years,” he said.
The junior minister was addressing a warm cloth distribution event in Dinajpur’s Birol upazila on Friday.
Terming the people as their asset, he said that Prime Minister Sheikh is the greatest blessing to the country.
“Her patriotism and love for the people are unparallel. Bangladesh is advancing as expected under her leadership,” he added.
Khalid went on to say that the premier is coordinating all developments – something that no other government led by parties except AL did in the past.
“So, we want this to continue,” he added.
Stating that the intensity of winter may rise further this year, he said that the prime minister sent warm clothes to winter-prone areas two month ago.
“The government has kept an eye on the commoners so they don’t suffer,” he added.
Birol upazila unit of AL organized Friday’s event. In Birol and Bochaganj upazilas, as many as 35,000 warm clothes were distributed among the distressed.
On a separate note, Khalid said they changed the “face of riverine Bangladesh”.
"We’ve taken measures for the dredging of 10,000 km of riverways, massively helping proper flow of river water,” he maintained.
