At least six members of the Dhaka University's Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) chapter were hurt when they were allegedly attacked by Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) men at the High Court Intersection on Saturday.
Around 12:45pm, JCD activits were leaving campus after thanking applicants with flowers and pencils following the arts, law, and social sciences unit admission exams when the event transpired, claimed the victims.
The injured JCD leaders are DU unit senior joint secretary Mominul Islam Jisan, joint secretary Razu Ahmed, organising secretary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall Anik Ahmed, joint secretary of Shahid Sergeant Zahurul Haque hall unit Abdullah Talukder Sabbir and Sir AF Rahman Hall JCD leader Arifur Rahman.
They were taken to Islami Bank Hospital in the capital for primary treatment.
Ariful Islam, DU unit General Secretary of JCD told TheReport.Live that his party strongly condemns and protests against this despicable terrorist attack by BCL.
"We demand exemplary punishment by identifying the culprits by the university administration. Otherwise, the DU unit Chhatra Dal will suppress the Chhatra League terrorists on the streets," he added.
BCL's DU unit General Secretary Tanbir Hasan Saikat told TheReport.Live that it was nothing but a scuffle between JCD's factions.
"Chhatra League men were helping the admission aspirants on that time," he added.
