Renowned writer, researcher, and Marxist theorist Badruddin Umar, who passed away on Sunday, had earlier submitted a written deposition to the investigation team of the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) as a witness in a case related to crimes against humanity during the July uprising.
Following his death, the tribunal made his testimony public.
Prosecutor B.M. Sultan Mahmud confirmed the development, saying, “Before his death, he (Badruddin Umar) had submitted this deposition to the prosecution.”
