Blaming BNP is an old habit of Awami League says Mirza Fakhrul

Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said that the attack on the Ahmadiyya community in Panchgarh was plotted and backed by the government in order to divert attention from other issues and damage the reputation of the BNP in order to obstruct democratic progress before the election.

On Monday (March 13) morning he said these things while addressing the chief guest at the extended meeting organized by the district BNP at his residence in Tantipara of Thakurgaon district town. He added that the Home Minister claimed, without conducting an investigation, that the incident had been planned by BNP members, the day after it happened.

It is their old habit to blame BNP by causing the incident themselves and they have established a reign of terror in Panchgarh, he added.

Mirza Fakhrul criticized Hasan Mahmud, the Minister of Information, saying that although he speaks so sweetly, he is unaware that no one any longer believes him.

On the issue of caretaker government, Mirza Fakhrul stated that the Awami League went on strike to demand elections under a neutral government, indicating not to hold elections under the current government.

He criticized Judge Khairul Islam, claiming that by removing the caretaker government in court, he had caused the most harm to the nation and had resulted in political chaos.

In front of the Railway Minister, the BNP Secretary General said that the Ahmadiyya community had made it clearly obvious that people close to them were involved in the violence. Although Abdur Rahman's name was mentioned among them, no one was detained by the police, and no charges were brought against them. Additionally, a complaint was filed against the BNP, and 180 persons were taken into custody.

The extended meeting of the Thakurgaon district BNP included former MP Zahidur Rahman, district BNP President Taimur Rahman, Vice Presidents Al Mamun and Obaidullah Haque Masood, as well as BNP and its members.
