The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has expressed its support for the ongoing nationwide operation, ‘Operation Devil Hunt,’ launched by joint forces to bring the law and order situation under control.

Speaking to journalists in Dhaka on Sunday afternoon, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir welcomed the initiative, signaling the party’s endorsement of the crackdown.

In his remarks, Mirza Fakhrul placed the blame for the recent unrest squarely on the shoulders of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who was ousted in a political uprising.

He stated, "Sheikh Hasina is responsible for the chaos in the country. I urge the people not to fall into her trap."

The BNP leader had just returned to Dhaka today after attending the ‘National Prayer Breakfast’ in the United States, where he participated in the annual event alongside global leaders.

During the press conference, he also touched on various current issues, linking many of the problems to the former Prime Minister’s actions.

Sheikh Hasina, who has been residing outside the country since her ouster on August 5 following mass protests, recently made a speech via an online platform from India.

Her comments have triggered fresh tensions and unrest across the nation.

In response to the growing instability, joint forces launched ‘Operation Devil Hunt’ to contain the situation and prevent it from escalating further.
