Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), one of the biggest political oppositions in Bangladesh, will hold rallies in all divisional cities on February 4 (Saturday) to press home their 10-point demand including holding the next general election under a caretaker government.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir came up with the announcement from a rally in front of the party’s Nayapaltan central office in the capital as part of the simultaneous movement against the current government.
Ganatantra Mancha, a political alliance of multiple opposition parties, also announced to hold protest rally across the country on February 4 protesting price hike of gas, oil and electricity.
Mahmudur Rahman Manna, President of Nagrik Oikya, made this announcement while addressing a rally organized in front of the National Press Club on Wednesday as part of the simultaneous movement based on their 14-point demand.
Zonaid Saki - Chief Coordinator of Ganasamhati Andolon, Nurul Haque Nur - Member Secretary of Gono Adhikar Porishad, Rafiqul Islam Bablu - Convenor of Bhasani Anusari Parishad, Shaheeduddin Mahmud Swapan - General Secretary of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal, JSD spoke at the rally among others.
