A court has rejected the latest bail plea submitted by the lawyers of BNP leaders Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and Mirza Abbas in a case filed over the violent clashes outside the party's central offices in the capital’s Naya Paltan on December 7.
This is the third time their bail plea has been turned down, which means BNP leaders will remain in jail.
Dhaka's Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Tofazzal Hossain rejected their bail petition, at a hearing on Thursday.
Mirza Fakhrul and Abbas were arrested on December 9 on charges of inciting attacks on police and detonations of improvised explosives at Naya Paltan.
