BNP Standing Committee Member Salah Uddin Ahmed has stated that the party does not support mob justice and will take disciplinary action if any BNP members are found involved in the incident against former Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda.

Speaking to the media on Monday, Salah Uddin emphasized that BNP believes in the rule of law and is committed to establishing a transparent judicial system.

He expressed hope that the arrest and legal proceedings against Nurul Huda would be conducted properly and respectfully.

"We do not support the humiliating treatment he received during his arrest. This is an isolated incident. If any BNP member is proven to have participated, we will investigate and take disciplinary action," Salah Uddin said.

He also stressed that no matter how serious a person‍‍`s alleged crime is, their legal and constitutional rights must always be protected.

Criticizing Nurul Huda‍‍`s role in electoral processes, Salah Uddin said he was among those responsible for destroying Bangladesh‍‍`s democracy and electoral integrity.

He further accused Nurul Huda of aiding the prolongation of authoritarian governance by compromising constitutional institutions.

On Sunday night, Nurul Huda was detained by local residents in Uttara, Dhaka. He was reportedly subjected to public humiliation before being handed over to the police. The incident quickly circulated on social media.
