Chief Adviser of the interim government, Dr. Muhammad Yunus, has officially changed his voter registration area, according to the Election Commission Secretariat.

The transfer was approved by ASM Humayun Kabir, Director General of the National Identity (NID) Registration Division, the EC said on Sunday (October 12).

According to data from the NID database, Dr. Yunus was previously registered as a voter using the address of Grameen Bank Complex in Mirpur. His voter registration has now been relocated to Gulshan-2, under Ward 19 of the Dhaka North City Corporation, which falls within the Dhaka-17 parliamentary constituency.

Records show that the application for the address change was approved by the NID Director General on February 17.

As per electoral regulations, a citizen is eligible to cast their vote in elections held within the area where they are registered as a voter.
