China has expressed its expectation for a free and fair election in Bangladesh. Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong conveyed this during a meeting with a visiting delegation of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP). He also stated that China is eagerly looking forward to working with the newly elected government.
The meeting took place on the second day of the BNP delegation`s ongoing visit to China, held at 11:00 AM Bangladesh time. The BNP team is being led by the party’s Secretary General, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed various aspects of bilateral cooperation. Mirza Fakhrul emphasized Bangladesh’s need for continued Chinese support in sectors such as agriculture, industry, garments, healthcare, and infrastructure development.
He also called for initiatives to address trade imbalances and sought Chinese assistance in modern technology and skills development to boost Bangladesh`s workforce and productivity.
BNP leaders described the meeting as highly cordial and expressed optimism about strengthening future relations between the two sides.
