A crude bomb was exploded in front of the central office of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) in the capital's Nayapaltan area on Saturday evening.
The incident took place around 6:10 pm, Dhaka Metropolitan Police's Motijheel zone Assistant Commissioner Golam Ruhani told The Business Standard.
"The bomb was thrown from a moving vehicle. However no one was injured in the blast," said Golam Ruhani citing eye-witnesses.
He said police are working to identify the perpetrators and detained five to six people from the spot for questioning.
An additional police force has been deployed in the area to avoid any untoward situation, he added.
