A new political party, Janata Party Bangladesh, has officially launched, with acclaimed film actor Ilias Kanchan serving as its chairman.
Veteran journalist Shaukat Mahmood has been appointed as the party’s secretary general.
The announcement was made at a formal event held at Hotel Intercontinental in Dhaka on Friday, where the party unveiled its slogan: “We will build a country of justice.”
