Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami is set to formally present its assessment of the proposed FY2026-27 national budget on Friday, while party leaders have also announced a procession in Dhaka as an immediate reaction to the budget proposal.
In a statement issued on Thursday, Jamaat said senior party leaders will outline their observations, concerns and overall position on the budget during a press briefing scheduled for Friday morning.
The briefing will take place at 11:30am at the party’s central office in Moghbazar, where leaders are expected to discuss various aspects of the government`s proposed spending plan for the upcoming fiscal year.
Meanwhile, the party`s Dhaka North unit has announced a procession to express its initial response to the budget shortly after its presentation in Parliament.
According to a separate statement from Dhaka North Jamaat, the procession will begin in front of Uttar Badda Kamil Madrasa on Thursday evening.
The budget, presented by Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, outlines the government`s fiscal priorities and policy direction for FY2026-27. Political parties and stakeholders have begun reviewing the proposal and are expected to share their reactions in the coming days.
Jamaat`s scheduled briefing is likely to provide a detailed overview of the party`s stance on the proposed budget and its potential impact on the economy and the public.
