Nurul Haque Nur, President of Gono Adhikar Parishad and former Vice President of the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU), has been discharged from Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
He left the hospital at around 4:45 pm on Monday (15 September), hospital authorities confirmed.
Brigadier General Md Asaduzzaman, Director of DMCH, said Nur was released following a decision by the medical board after his health showed significant improvement. Nur had been admitted to the hospital on the night of the incident, and an emergency medical board was formed to begin his treatment.
He was initially kept under close observation in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) on the fourth floor of the old DMCH building. Later, a 10-member specialist medical board was formed to oversee his care.
Nur had been hospitalized following violent clashes on 29 August at Bijoynagar between activists of the Jatiya Party and Gono Adhikar Parishad.
Law enforcement intervened with baton charges to bring the situation under control, leaving Nur, party General Secretary Rashed Khan, and at least 50 others injured.
Nur was first taken to Islami Bank Hospital before being transferred to DMCH at around 11 pm for advanced treatment.
