Awami Jubo League Chairman Sheikh Fazle Shams Parash has called for the formation of a committee to investigate into the recent fire-incidents.
He made the call at an 'Eid gift distribution ceremony of prime Minister Sheikh Hasina' organized by Dhaka South City unit of Jubo League at Dholaipar High School ground in the capital on Saturday.
Parash said that several fire incidents took place at various places recently.
"I am requesting the government to see whether there was any conspiracy behind such fire-incidents," he added.
"Such frequent fire incidents cannot be considered as mere accidents," he said, adding that BNP-Jamaat is good to hold fire-incidents as they have experiences to this end.
An investigation committee should be formed to find out the true facts, he continued.
The fire at Dhaka New Super Market that erupted on Saturday morning is the latest fof its kind in the capital.
On April 4, the Bangabazar Shopping Complex was burnt to the ground in a deadly fire.
