Tk 10 lakh crore was laundered abroad during the tenure of the present government, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam said, demanding that the government resign and form a caretaker government.
"Right nowt, Sheikh Hasina must resign, abolish the constitutional amendment and form a caretaker government. That
government will form a new Election Commission. The national election will be held under the new commission," Fakhrul said.He was addressing a party rally in Faridpur on Saturday afternoon.
"Tk 10 lakh crore was laundered abroad during the tenure of the present government. 42% of the country's population lives below the poverty line," he said.
"It was said that they (the government) would provide rice at Tk 10 and free fertilizers and people from every home get jobs. But nothing happened of those," Fakhrul added.
