Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) A.M.M. Nasir Uddin has reiterated the Election Commission‍‍`s commitment to conducting a free, fair, and credible election, saying, "We have no doubts about this goal. We are making every possible effort to achieve it. Our objective is clear."

The CEC made these remarks on Thursday, January 9, during the opening ceremony of a workshop titled "Challenges in the Voter Registration Process and Solutions," held in Moulvibazar. The event, hosted at the Bengal Convention Hall, was organized by the district election office and the Election Commission‍‍`s Capacity Building Project for ICT Usage (CBTIEP).

During his address to the workshop participants, Nasir Uddin clarified, "We are not here to help any political party, group, or individual win or to block anyone from succeeding in the elections. Our sole purpose is to deliver a fair election."

Stressing the importance of impartiality, the CEC remarked, "Our focus is on conducting the election smoothly. Whoever the public votes for will win. That’s our goal. There is no need for fear, and favoritism is unnecessary. Do not show bias."

The workshop‍‍`s inaugural session was chaired by Mohammad Nurul Alam, Regional Election Officer of Sylhet. Special addresses were delivered by K.M. Ali Nawaz, Additional Secretary of the Election Commission Secretariat; Muhammad Mostafa Hasan, Deputy Chief and Project Director of CBTIEP; Md. Israil Hossain, Moulvibazar‍‍`s Deputy Commissioner; and Md. Moin Uddin Khan, Joint Secretary of the Election Commission Secretariat.

The welcome speech was given by Moulvibazar District Election Officer Nasir Uddin Patwary, with remarks also made by Sudarshan Kumar Roy, Additional Superintendent of Police for Moulvibazar.

Further addressing the attendees, Nasir Uddin stated, "Previously, not showing favoritism could jeopardize your job. There would be complications. But now, if anyone tries to favor a specific side, they will face difficulties. The situation has completely reversed. This is a clear decision, and we will maintain a strong position on it."

Issuing a stern warning, he added, "If we learn that someone is working on behalf of a particular party or individual, we will take action. Let this be our formal announcement."
