Amar Bangladesh Party, AB Party, held a protest rally titled ‘Yes’ to Democracy, ‘No’ to Autocracy’ on Wednesday afternoon which paraded through the streets of Shegun Bagicha, Kakrail, Naya Polton and Bijoy Nogor area of capital.
Prof. Dr. Abdul Wahab Minar, a Joint Convenor of AB Party, said, all the pleasure currently enjoyed by the ruling party candidates would evaporate very soon. Their names would be engraved in the future books and memorials as collaborators of most authoritarian government in this country.
Adv. Tajul Islam, a Joint Convenor of AB Party, we have been protesting against this unelected regime, and would continue to do so, until democracy is restored and a free, fair, participatory and credible election is held.
Mojibur Rahman Monju, Member Secretary of AB Party, said 7th January election would be nothing but a farce. This illegal government is inviting trade sanction upon the ready-made garment industry which would badly affect our economy.
Assaduzzaman Fuaad, a barrister-at-law and a Joint Member Secretary, said third time one-party election is tantamount to Pyrrhic victory. We are no longer prepared to live like slaves and subjects under this undemocratic regime.
