A new, terrifying development has come which threatens the sacred art form selfie. Over the past few months, algorithmically generated art has been increasingly prevalent, igniting intense debate and pearl clutching about whether AI will make human artists obsolete.
An AI enthusiast named Fabian Stelzer uploaded the photographs that the algorithmic selfie-generation tool produced on Twitter on Tuesday, and the posts quickly went viral. Stelzer created a variety of selfies by repeatedly running his own pictures via online tools that offer personalized adjustments.
The system can be trained to link specific words and phrases with particular types of images, aesthetics, locations, and other things over time. The model and similar ones have given rise to a cottage industry, and a number of websites allow users to "tune" the model and add unique embeddings.
