Dhallywood actor Pori Moni is starring in the role of Pritilata Waddedar, a Bangali revolutionary nationalist from Chattagram who was influential in the Indian independence movement during British rule. The film titled ‘Pritilata’ has already completed a portion of its production back last December.
The film’s team recently organised a look test of Pori Moni on July 19 at capital’s Canvas Studio.
Pori Moni released her look as the revolutionary on her verified Facebook fan page and captioned the post with the word, “Fighter.”
After the shoot, Pori Moni told the press that she is feeling relieved that the look came out the way they expected.
“I could not even recognise myself. I was a bit nervous before the shoot. Then it felt like I owned this revolutionary figure within me. I can not express that feeling in words. As if Pritilata’s spirit had possessed me,” she told the press.
The film is being helmed by filmmaker Rashid Palash, while the screenplay and script was written by Golam Rabbani.
Pritilata Waddedar was born on May 5, 1911 in the Dhalghat village of Patiya in Chattagram. This brave firebrand was shot in the aftermath of her attack on the Pahartali European Club on 24 September 1932. In order to evade capture by the British soldiers, Pritilata consumed potassium cyanide and ended her life at the age of 21.
