The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has frozen the bank accounts of several actors and actresses, including popular actress Nusrat Imroj Tisha, for failing to pay taxes on time.
According to an official notification issued by the NBR on June 15, the bank accounts of a total of 25 individuals have been frozen. Among them are well-known celebrities such as Tisha, Moushumi, Rezaul Karim (Bapparaj), Nusrat Faria, Sabila Nur, Shabnam Parvin, and Ahmed Sharif.
Sources from Tax Zone-12 confirmed that the action was taken after these celebrities reportedly failed to meet their tax payment deadlines. Officials stated that the bank accounts can be reactivated once the pending taxes are cleared.
It has been reported that actress Moushumi is currently residing in the United States, while the others are in the country. However, no immediate comments were available from the affected celebrities regarding the matter.
