Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) authority has recently posted a notice banning all kinds of animal slaughter inside its premises during this Eid-ul-Azha. Printed copies of the official notice have been posted around BFDC premises since Sunday (July 18).
BFDC Assistant Admin Aminur Karim told the press that the organisation has reached to this decision almost seven days ago before posting the notice.
He also informed that these slaughters create a lot of blood and waste and pollutes the premises. Hence, the organisation came to this decision.
Though it is a long tradition among film artistes to slaughter sacrificial animals in the name of legendary Bangladeshi film actors like Nayak Raj Razzak, Manna among others.
Aminur also stated that if someone still wants to slaughter sacrificial animals here then they have to formally submit an application to the administration.
Since 2016, Dhallywood film star Pori Moni also organised sacrificial animal slaughter inside BFDC premises to distribute the meat among BFDC employees and the needy of Dhaka.
The star, who is recently under fire for her claims about attempted rape and murder, recently announced that she will organise sacrificial animal slaughter of six cows at BFDC.
The Artistes Association (Shilpi Samiti) also made arrangements to do the same at BFDC.
