Renowned filmmaker Mostofa Sarwar Farooki has shared that his romantic journey with actress Nusrat Imrose Tisha began during a drama shoot in Cumilla, long before their marriage in July 2010.
While speaking at a cultural event in Cumilla, Farooki, now serving as the cultural advisor to the interim government, reflected on his personal connection to the city.
He revealed that it was during the filming of the drama Carrom that his relationship with Tisha deepened.
He said, “Cumilla holds a very special place in my heart. I’ve visited here many times for shooting. The love of my life, Tisha—whom I later married—our relationship became deeper here during the production of Carrom. So, my personal love story is also rooted in this city.”
Recalling those moments, Farooki added that while working in Cumilla, they often discussed the places associated with the poet Kazi Nazrul Islam, who also had strong ties to the city.
Farooki humorously noted that Cumilla is not only known for Nazrul’s romantic memories but also those of his younger brothers.
Farooki and Tisha tied the knot on July 16, 2010, and they now have a daughter named Ilham Nusrat Farooki. The drama Carrom, which sparked their connection, was based on a story by Kochi Khandaker and featured actor Mosharraf Karim in a breakout role.
