Hollywood star and Oscar-winning actress Nicole Kidman has ended her 18-year marriage to four-time Grammy-winning country singer Keith Urban.
According to sources cited by the BBC, the couple tied the knot in June 2006 and share two daughters: Sunday Rose (17) and Faith Margaret (14).
Entertainment magazine TMZ first reported the news, stating that the couple has been living separately since this summer. Sources indicate that the separation was not initiated by Kidman. The exact reasons for the split have not been disclosed.
Raised in Australia, both Kidman and Urban faced challenges during their nearly two-decade-long relationship. Just months after their wedding, Urban entered rehabilitation for drug and alcohol issues. Both Kidman and Urban had previously spoken about how this difficult period strengthened their bond.
In a 2010 interview on The Oprah Winfrey Show, Urban reflected on his transformation, saying, “I believe everything happened in a way that brought us together at that moment. Nicole has taught me so much and brought so much into my life.”
Despite the recent separation, the couple was publicly seen together in happy moments just months ago. In June, they attended a FIFA Club World Cup match in Nashville, Tennessee. In May, they were photographed holding hands and kissing while Urban was honored at the Academy of Country Music Awards.
Nicole Kidman was previously married to actor Tom Cruise for over a decade before their divorce in 2001. The former couple also share two children.
