Bangladesh set 296-run target for Sri Lanka

Bangladesh have set a challenging target of 296 runs for Sri Lanka to chase in the fourth innings of the ongoing Test match.

After securing a strong position, Bangladesh declared their second innings at 285 for 6 wickets after 87 overs.

Captain Najmul Hossain Shanto, who remained unbeaten on 125 off 199 balls, led from the front with a superb century.

Nayeem Hasan was at the crease with him, not out on 7 runs off 23 deliveries when the innings was declared.

Combining both innings, Bangladesh hold an overall lead of 295 runs. The big question now is whether Sri Lanka will attempt to chase the target or play for a draw. A total of 37 overs remain in the day‍‍`s play.

In Bangladesh’s second innings, Sri Lankan spinner Tharindu Ratnayake was the most successful bowler, claiming 3 wickets for 102 runs.
