Bangladesh to tour Sri Lanka for full series starting June 2025

Bangladesh will travel to Sri Lanka for an all-format cricket tour in June and July 2025, featuring two Tests, three One Day Internationals (ODIs), and three Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is).

The tour will begin with the two-match Test series, marking the start of the new ICC World Test Championship cycle for both teams. The first Test will be held in Galle, followed by the second in Colombo.

After the Tests, the ODI leg will take place on July 2, 5, and 8. The first two matches are scheduled in Colombo, while the third will be hosted in Pallekele.

The T20I series will round out the tour, with matches on July 10, 13, and 16 to be played in Pallekele, Dambulla, and Colombo respectively.

This series will be one of Bangladesh’s first T20I assignments under newly appointed captain Liton Das.

Bangladesh last toured Sri Lanka for a Test series in which they drew the first match and lost the second by 209 runs, resulting in a 1-0 series defeat.

Before heading to Sri Lanka, Bangladesh is set to play T20I series in the United Arab Emirates and Pakistan — two matches in the UAE followed by five in Pakistan.

The Tigers recently hosted Zimbabwe, drawing their Test series 1-1. All-rounder Mehedi Hasan Miraz starred with three five-wicket hauls across the two Tests.

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka’s latest international action came against Australia at home. Although they lost the two-match Test series, they clinched the ODI series 2-0 against the reigning World Cup champions.
