Five more children have died with measles-like symptoms across the country in the past 24 hours. During the same period, 1,105 children were infected with measles or showed measles-like symptoms.
The information was disclosed in the latest measles situation report published by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Monday afternoon.
According to the report, although five more children died with measles-like symptoms in the last 24 hours, no deaths were confirmed to have been caused by measles.
Since March 15, the number of deaths involving measles-like symptoms nationwide has reached 730. Meanwhile, 95 children have died from confirmed measles infections. This brings the total number of child deaths from measles and measles-related symptoms during this period to 825.
In the past 24 hours, 113 children were diagnosed with measles, while 992 children were reported to have measles-like symptoms. During the same period, 1,415 children were newly admitted to hospitals, and 1,000 children were discharged after receiving treatment.
According to DGHS data, the total number of suspected measles cases in the country since March 15 has reached 124,745. Of these, 15,555 cases have been confirmed as measles. A total of 107,654 patients have been admitted to hospitals, while 103,467 patients have recovered and been discharged after treatment.
