Shan Masood has dismissed suggestions of revenge ahead of Pakistan’s Test series against Bangladesh national cricket team, saying his team is focused only on playing good cricket.
Speaking before the first Test in Mirpur, the Pakistan captain praised Bangladesh for their historic series win in Rawalpindi in 2024.
Masood said Bangladesh deserved credit for the way they fought back in that series, recalling how they recovered from a difficult position to secure victory.
He also stressed the importance of staying focused on the present instead of thinking too far ahead in the World Test Championship.
Pakistan finished at the bottom of the previous championship table, but Masood said the team is taking things one match at a time.
The captain also acknowledged the strength of Bangladesh’s current bowling attack, describing it as one of the best the country has produced.
Pakistan has brought a 16-member squad for the series, with players suited for different conditions.
Masood said both teams have quality bowlers and added that the side which performs better over the full series will likely come out on top.
